What Are Chia Seeds?
Chia seeds come from the Salvia hispanica plant, a member of the mint family. They are nutrient powerhouses rich in omega-3 fatty acids, protein, antioxidants, and various vitamins and minerals, including calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and selenium. Chia seeds are also extremely high in fibre, especially soluble fibre, which helps promote digestive health, regulate blood sugar levels, and aid in weight management by prolonging the feeling of fullness after meals.
